Japanese Power Utilities LNG Stores Fall in Sep but Up on the Week

LNG stockpiles held by major Japanese power utilities increased 3.85% on the week to 1.62m tons on 1 Oct according to trade ministry data.

  • The monthly data shows LNG storage falling from 2.66m tons a year earlier to 1.63m tons at the end of September and 0.43m tons below the five year average.
  • A mild autumn after the hot summer should leave room for refill according to ICIS.
