JGBS: JGB futures trade off Friday's overnight session lows, just, but have
struggled to make any real in-roads into the losses suffered late last week. The
contract last sits 20 ticks below settlement levels, with bear steepening
playing out in the cash space, in response to Friday's after hours sell off in
futures.
- The weekend saw BoJ Governor Kuroda reiterate that the Bank could loosen
policy further, if required.
- There has also been some focus on the U.S.-Japan trade talks, after U.S. Tsy
Sec Mnuchin stressed that any trade pact between the 2 nations would have to
address currency devaluation issues.
- 20-Year issuance headlines the local docket on Tuesday, with trade data due
Wednesday, ahead of CPI data on Friday.
