July durable goods new orders -1.7% vs exp,.>

US DATA: July durable goods new orders -1.7% vs -1.3% exp, led down by    
-5.3% in transport. Durables orders were revised downward to +0.7% in 
June (prev +0.8%).                                                     
- Durable goods ex-trans orders +0.2, below the +0.5% expected, 
reflecting decreases in communications equipment and the all other 
durables category.                                    
- Within transport, nondefense aircraft orders -35.4% after +1.3% in    
June, and mtr vehicle orders +3.5%, while defense aircraft orders        
-34.6%. The unlisted transportation components +7.9%, according to an  
MNI calc.                                                               
- Nondefense capital goods new orders -4.6%, but +1.4% ex. aircraft.     
- Durable shipments -0.2%. Nondef cap gds shipments -4.2%, but +0.9% ex.
air. Durable inventories +1.3% (highest since May 2011), unfilled orders 
flat.
