Kazakh 2022 Production Forecast May Reduce due to Kashagan Gas Leak

Kazakhstan Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov says the oil production forecast for 2022 may be reduced according to Interfax.

  • The current forecast for 2022 oil output is 85.5m-85.7m tons
  • Kazakh oil and condensate production has been impacted by a gas leak at Kashagan, the country’s largest field. An unplanned outage at Kashagan due to a gas release on Aug 3 has continued to limit output.
  • The CPC September loading schedule was revised down from 5.15 to 3.997m tons and the October loadings have been set at the lowest since Sep 2016 at 3.85m tons.
