Kazakhstan to Increase Azeri Oil Transit to 2.2m MTPA

Kazakhstan expects to increase the volume of its oil flowing along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan route from 1.5m mtpa to 2.2m mtpa, according to TASS.

  • The agreement to increase flows was signed between Kazakhstan’s KMG and Socar.
  • The companies also signed an MoU for collaboration on selling Kazakh oil.
  • KMG and Socar first entered into an agreement in 2022 to send up to 1.5m mtpa along the pipeline. In 2023, flows via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline totalled 1.057m mt.
