Kuroda Stands Firm, Local Data Due

JGBS

JGB futures may see a bit of spill over from the U.S. Tsy space at the re-open, with some of Friday’s NY Tsy rally unwound in early U.S. futures trade this week. As a reminder, JGB futures ultimately shed 6 ticks in post-Tokyo trade ahead of the weekend.

  • Late on Friday BoJ Governor Kuroda stressed that there was no plan within the Bank re: changing the JGB tenor targeted by its YCC mechanism until the Bank’s 2% inflation target is in sight and discussions re: exit strategies take hold.
  • Industrial production and retail sales data headline the local docket on Monday.
