Kuwait’s KPC Agrees VLSFO Supply Contract with Qatar: Argus

Kuwait’s KPC has signed a term agreement with Qatar Energy to supply VLSFO from July-June 2025, Argus said.

  • The deal amounts to 2.1m mtpa (21k b/d) and prices at around an $8-$9/mt premium vs Singapore 0.5% marine fuel spot assessment.
  • Qatar Energy had a previous mini VLSFO agreement with KPC last year.
  • This is KPC’s third official term contract since the start-up of the Al-Zour refinery. The refinery produces around 11m-12m mtpa of VLSFO when at full capacity – around 50% of allocated exports.
