Labour Narrows Conservative Lead Ahead Of Thursday By-Election: Poll

UK

Latest poll from SavantaComRes shows the opposition centre-left Labour party narrowing the lead of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's centre-right Conservative party with the closely-watched parliamentary by-election in the Batley and Spen constituency looming on Thursday.

  • Westminster voting intention: CON: 42% (-2), LAB: 33% (+3), LDEM: 9% (-1), GRN: 5% (-). via @SavantaComRes, 25 - 27 Jun. Chgs. w/ 20 Jun

  • However, if Labour can hold the seat it would put a dent in PM Johnson's efforts to continue the realignment of English politics along identity/cultural lines (social conservative/social liberal) rather than the historic division along class or income lines (fiscally left/fiscally right).
