Q: Do you think the market in pricing several rate increases this year has got ahead of itself? Can you tell us your view on the impact of tensions between Russia and Ukraine on the economic and inflation outlooks?

  • A: When it comes to interest rate hikes, we have a forward guidance that identifies three criteria that need to be satisfied in order for rates to be increased. We will determine in March what is the assessment of inflation.
  • The geopolitical clouds over Europe, if they were to materialise, would certainly have an impact on energy prices. It would also impact growth as a result of reduced income and deferred investment.
