  • Leading gainers: Health Care and Consumer Discretionary sectors outperformed in the second half, pharmaceutical and biotech shares buoyed the former: Regeneron +3.15%, Moderna +2.88%, Eli Lilly +1.997%. Meanwhile, automakers and parts suppliers supported the Consumer Discretionary: Tesla +1.95%, Aptiv +0.5%.
  • Laggers: Energy and Communication Services sectors underperformed in late trade, equipment and services shares pared gains from the prior session: Schlumberger -0.97%, Haliburton -0.89%, Baker Hughes -0.83%. Media and entertainment shares weighed on the latter: Google -1.11%, Disney -0.85%, Paramount -0.73%.
