  • Stocks holding mildly higher, S&P eminis just off all-time high of 4841.50 tapped overnight, led by Utility and Financial sectors in late session trade. At the moment: S&P E-Mini future are up 2.5 points (0.04%) at 4836.0, Nasdaq up 11.1 points (0.1%) at 15110.46, DJIA up 91.67 points (0.24%) at 37747.86.
  • Leading gainers: Independent power and renewable energy shares buoyed the Utility sector: Dominion +1.03%, AEE +0.88%, NiSource +0.84%. Meanwhile, Financial sector shares, particularly insurance names, displaced Health Care sector shares in the second half: Chubb and AIG both +1.13% in late trade, Assurant +0.85%, Arch Capital Grp +0.76%.
  • Laggers: Energy and Materials sectors continued to underperform in late trade, equipment and services shares pared gains from the prior session: Haliburton and Schlumberger both -1.10%, Baker Hughes -0.93%. Metals and mining shares weighed on the Materials sector: Newmont -1.58%, Steel Dynamics -1.44%, Nucor -1.35%.
