The lead for Canada's governing centre-left Liberal Party hit is highest level in an Abacus Data opinion poll since the 2019 general election in the latest survey. The
- Liberal Party of Canada: 37% (=), Conservative Party of Canada: 25% (-2), New Democratic Party: 20% (+2), Bloc Quebecois: 7% (-2), Greens: 6% (+1). +/- vs. 18-21 June '21. Fieldwork: 28-30 June '21. Sample Size: 1,500.
- There remains significant speculation that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will call a snap general election for September or another point in the autumn to take advantage of strong polling numbers boosted by Canada's rapid vaccination efforts and a fiscal spending package pumping significant taxpayer funds into the Canadian economy. Trudeau currently leads a minority gov't propped up by the leftist New Democratic Party (NDP).

- In June Trudeau was asked about whether it would be sensible to hold an election during a pandemic, to which he replied "That's one of the things people are reflecting on right now...I think people are starting to feel that we're approaching the end of the pandemic, the vaccinations are going really well."
- Based on the opinion polling shown above, the Liberals would be strong favourites to win the additional 15 seats required to hold a majority in the House of Commons.
