Libyan Oil Revenue Could Be Best Since 2013

Libya could generate its highest oil revenues this year since 2013 according to Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Farhat Bengdara.

  • "We expect oil revenues will be from $35 bln to $37 bln," the Chairman said. The figure will be "record-high for the country since 2013," he added.
  • He said Libya had agreed with Eni and BP to begin extracting natural gas from a Mediterranean field believed to be bigger than Egypt’s Zohr.
  • He said Libya’s proven natural gas reserves exceed 80 trillion cubic feet.
