LNG at Sea Falls 8.1% But Remains High at 4.58m tons

The total estimated quantity of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 20 days fell by 8.1% last week to 4.58m tons as of June 30, according to Bloomberg estimates.

  • Volumes at sea have pulled back from the highest since November at 5.1m tons on June 26 but remain well above the normal seasonal range. The five-year seasonal average volume is 2.06m tons.
  • The estimated volume of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 30 days has however risen on the week to 2.52m tons compared to 2.28m tons a week earlier.
