LNG At Sea Increases to the Most Since December

LNG

LNG on tankers at sea increased 43% over the last week with high inventories in Europe and Asia after a mild winter and muted demand in Asia.

  • The volume of LNG on tanker on the water for more than 20 days increased to the most since December at 3.43m metric tons as of 7 May according to Bloomberg.
  • Lower gas prices in Asia are encouraging some price-sensitive buyers in South Asia. Thailand PTT purchased several cargoes for May-July delivery in the 10$/mmbtu to 12$/mmbtu range.
