LNG: LNG at Sea At Least 20 Days Falls 6.5% w/w

The total estimated quantity of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 20 days fell by 6.5% last week to 3.45m tons as of Aug 18, according to Bloomberg estimates.

  • Volumes at sea have remained relatively steady this month after falling from a high of over 4.8m tons in late June. Volumes remain well above the previous five year range for the time of year with the seasonal average around 2.1m tons.
  • The estimated volume of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 30 days is down on the week at 1.13m tons compared to 1.26m tons a week earlier.
