LNG Tankers Waiting in Med to Unload

Several laden LNG tankers are waiting around Mediterranean terminals to unload their cargos, some for as long as two-months, according to ICIS.

  • The Dapeng Princess, an LNG carrier which recently loaded from Egypt Oct. 12, is waiting near the Panigaglia terminal, according to ICIS.
  • The Dapeng Princess, carrying a cargo only half the size of standard tankers, arrived near Panigaglia in Northwest Italy last week, but has yet to unload the cargo.
  • A second tanker, the Maran Gas Efessos, is also waiting in Northern Italy, after circling in the middle of the Mediterranean for several days. It loaded from Algeria Oct. 10.
  • The Rosenrot and New Apex have been waiting near Spain since mid-August, ICIS said.
