LNG Vessel Pulls Away from Hammerfest After Leak

LNG

Norway's 4.3mtpa Hammerfest LNG plant shut after a gas leak on 23 April whilst undergoing maintenance.

  • The LNG vessel Cool Runner had been at the jetty, but pulled away to circle west of the plant, likely unable to complete its loading according to ICIS.
  • The Cool Runner had been listed on port data for Le Havre, France for 29 April but will likely now be delayed. The Arctic Voyager is also waiting nearby, apparently empty.
  • The outage is expected until April 26 but can be extended if problems develop.
  • It is not unusual to see the end date change several times from the initial estimate according to ICIS but appears to be a small issue at present.
