Local Bonds Catch a Bid, But Trade Softer W/W

  • Local & USD bonds little changed around the open after a broadly firmer day yesterday as EM FI sentiment ticked up.
  • Local bonds outperformed their USD counterparts, with the local curve bull steepening -4-6bp in 2-3Y yields.
  • Conversely, USD bonds bull flattened with 15Y yields leading the way -4.2bp lower.
  • W/w the local curve is positioned bear flatter with 3m-6m yields +21-23bp higher, while the remainder of the curve treads water less than +5bp higher.
  • The USD curve is lower w/w but with a less discernible bias, 1Y -10bp, 15Y -8.5bp.
  • 5Y CDS has traded choppily this week, pegged within the 86-87 range.
