Local Investors Sell Both Offshore Bonds & Stocks

Japan weekly investment data for the week ending 5th of May showed offshore flows into local stocks of +373.1bn yen, similar trends to the second half of April. In terms of bond flows though we saw a reversal, with -216.5bn yen in outflows (offsetting some of the +329.3bn yen in inflows seen in the final week of April).

  • In terms of Japan investment abroad to the rest of the world, foreign bonds were sold (-635.2bn yen), as were foreign stocks (-455.4bn yen).
