Lower House Speaker Vows Solidarity With Taiwan, CNB Rate Decision Draws Nearer

CZECHIA
  • Chamber of Deputies Speaker Marketa Pekarova Adamova told Taiwanese lawmakers that her country will always stand with the people of the self-ruled island, adding that "under any circumstances we are in the same boat together." She arrived in Taipei on Saturday for a visit that was protested by mainland China and will likely weigh on Prague-Beijing diplomatic relations. • The CNB said it will host a conference on Czech banking on April 17. The speaker slate includes Deputy Governor Jan Frait.
  • The countdown has started for the CNB's monetary policy decision, due tomorrow at 13:30BST/14:30CEST.
