AUSSIE: Main focus on tonight's Australian CPI (0030GMT) read where early
indications suggest higher retail electricity and gas prices could see the
number come in slightly above the median (2.0% y/y) at 2.1%.
- Analysts at Westpac are forecasting a 0.74% Q3 rise in the Australian headline
CPI of which, 0.47ppts are likely to come from energy while he ex-energy
(household electricity and gas) inflation rises 0.27%.
- Analysts at NAB expect headline CPI to rise 0.8% q/q, 2.0% y/y.
