FED: Market looked through the latest round of comments from NY Fed President
Williams, with his commentary not revealing any shocks.
- BBG ran a comment from Williams where he noted that his baseline outlook is
"pretty darn good." As an aside he looks for 2.25% GDP growth in 2020, and
believe that inflation is set to pick up to close to 2.0% this year.
- Williams also pointed to MonPol being well positioned.
- On the funding front he noted that the Fed does not want to "eliminate
volatility" from markets (per BBG), and that the Fed is making sure it has "good
control" of the FFR, with money markets functioning "as we'd expect."
- BBG also noted that Williams said that the "LIBOR transition is the biggest
challenge for financials."
- He outlined known risks including. Global growth, low inflation, China &
Coronavirus.
