US TSYS
Reassessing geopol risk after Russia invasion of Ukraine on multiple fronts overnight. Markets unwinding a fair portion of this morning's risk-off/safe haven moves:

  • Equities still weaker but trading at top end recent session highs: SPX eminis -51.75 points (-1.23%) at 4170.5
  • US$ surge: DXY +1.415 at 97.607.
  • Gold had topped 1973.0 ahead the NY FI open now trading around 1928.0 (+19.0).
  • WTI crude still well bid but off highs: 97.35 (+5.25) amid ongoing debate over whether US and allies will target energy when they introduce more sanctions on Russia for Ukraine invasion.
  • Technicals: Tsy 10Y futures at 126-21 +12 at the moment after delivering fresh high for the week earlier: 127-12.5.
    • The climb signals scope for an extension of the current corrective cycle and attention is on the 50-day EMA at 127-31.
    • Moving average studies continue to highlight a broader bearish trend condition and the 50-day EMA is seen as an important resistance point.
