Mask Mandate Could Be Eased Further

  • The Turkish government have posted a decree outlining $9.9bln in total projected investment for Black Sea natural gas. A series of tax incentives accompany the project, including 100% tax cut, zero customs tax as well as VAT exemptions and repayments.
  • Authorities are looking forward to a solid rise in tourism receipts during the five-day Eid al-Fitr holidays, with TRY 15bln of trade expected, according to Dunya.
  • Turkey’s mask mandate could be lifted, according to Milliyet, who report that the Scientific Committee is expected to further ease rules. While the mandate is expected to continue for intercity public transport, hospitals and restaurants, it may be lifted in schools.
