Free Access/MBS: ### EXCLUSIVE: Treasuries late....>
US TSYS/10Y: /MBS: ### EXCLUSIVE: Treasuries late selloff Tue has traders
checking cash 10-yr note technical levels as key 2.40% yld level apparently
broken to upside on close. Tsys slid late on Fed Chr/Taylor speculation. Some
believe next big 10-yr level is 2.50% one, then 2.60%. But others in cash Tsys
say it's closer: 2.432% (98-13+/14/32). (Cash 10-yr note is at 2.421%.)
- Meanwhile some say, "Let's see what Asian accounts do overnight here," hoping
that there might be some good bargain-hunting to stabilize the markets here.
- A different trader said an important level is 2.49%, a pivotal area that
failed in mid-2015, and was pivotal earlier this year; another level was 2.62%,
old highs of 2017, which matched an old 2014 high yield.
- MNI technical analysts said 2.437% was March 23rd 2017 high yield, and that a
rise in yield above would target the 2017 yield highs.
- Treasuries and MBS traders eyed levels on cash 10-yr note that may spur
MBS-tied hedging (either via Tsys sales, swaps paying, MBS sales). But it
depends: some say MBS hedge needs do not kick in until 2.60%, but others say
it's at 2.50%.
