MIDTERMS: Biden And Trump Make Last Pitch To US Voters

US

President Biden and former President Donald Trump are holding their final rallies of the midterm election cycle today as Republican and Democrat make a last pitch to voters ahead of tomorrow's midterm elections.

    • Biden will be in Bowie, Maryland campaigning on behalf of Democrat gubernatorial candidate Wes Moore.
    • Trump will be in Dayton, Ohio boosting Republican Senate candidate JD Vance and Gov. Mike DeWine (R-OH)
  • With Moore leading his GOP rival Dan Cox by 30+ percentage points, the choice of venue appears to demonstrate a lack of confidence in Biden as vote winner in key races. A number of Democrat candidates, included Rep Tim Ryan (D-OH) in the Ohio Senate race, have sought to distance themselves from Biden in order to deflect Republican criticism of the Biden administration.
  • Trump's appearance in Ohio with his hand-picked Senate candidate JD Vance shows the former President's willingness to make himself a central player in the key races.
  • Some pundits have speculated that Trump may use the Ohio rally to formally announce a 2024 presidential bid.
  • Tom Haynes at Fox News: "Will Donald Trump drop a bombshell tonight in Ohio and announce his candidacy for President in 2024?"
