Ministers to Resign From University Public Trusts

Comments crossing wires from the head of the Prime Minister's Office, Gergely Gulyas, who has said that Hungarian Ministers are to resign from university public trusts. As a reminder, Hungary expressed willingness earlier this year to loosen political control over universities overseen by so-called public trusts set by Orban in 2021, which critics say exert political control over the education system. Note almost $30b in EU funding was frozen last month due to EU concerns over corruption and graft, and these latest moves may act as a step closer towards securing those funds.
