FED: -Minneapolis Fed's Kashkari: "I'm comfortable where rates are right now."
-"We are on pause now for a while, so we have cut interest rates three times
least year when it looked like there were some headwinds to the U.S. economy and
I thought that was smart to cut those rates."
-Rates today "are a little bit below neutral" and "that's a decent place for us
to be in right now."
-"We are probably going to sit here for the next three months, the next six
months, maybe longer, but if I were to guess what the next move will be, my best
guess is the next move would be down rather than up, because we are pretty close
to neutral today, and there are any number of shocks around the global economy
that could hit the U.S. economy and call for lower rates from here."
- A "positive boost" like optimism returning to global investment might also
call for higher rates, he said Wed. at farm panel in Mankato, Minnesota
