MNI: BOJ's Yamada Replaces Etoh As Osaka Branch Manager

     TOKYO (MNI) - The Bank of Japan said on Wednesday that Yasuhiro Yamada,
director-general of the Financial System and Bank Examination Department, has
been promoted to the bank's Osaka branch manager and one of the six executive
directors, effective immediately.
     Yamada, 54, takes over from Kimihiro Etoh, who will return to the BOJ head
office in Tokyo. Etoh replaces Atsushi Miyanoya, executive director in charge of
the Financial System and Bank Examination Department, the Currency Issue
Department and the Public Relations Department.
     Miyanoya left the BOJ on Tuesday when his four-year term as executive
director ended.
