MNI BRIEF: BOE Haldane Breaks Ranks, Votes To Cut Bond Buys​​
LONDON (MNI)

The recent rise in UK bond yields is almost entirely a reflection of an improved economic outlook, rather than an ominous warning signs about inflation, Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee Gertjan Vlieghe said Thursday.

Vlieghe, who has championed negative rates, said that if the economic recovery disappoints, said further stimulus might be needed "to help eliminate slack and ensure inflation, after its temporary rise later this year, does not subsequently fall back below its 2% target persistently."
