MNI BRIEF: BOJ Clarifies On Fixed-Rate JGB Buying Operations

TOKYO (MNI)

The Bank of Japan board on Thursday has clarified the guidelines for the unlimited purchase of Japanese Government Bonds (JGBs) at a fixed-rate to maintain the stability of financial markets.

“In order to implement the guideline for market operations, the BOJ will offer to purchase 10-year JGB at 0.25% every business day through fixed-rate purchase operations, unless it is highly unlikely that no bids will be submitted,” the BOJ said.
