MNI BRIEF: BOJ, FSA Check Risk Management on Archegos Losses

Bank of Japan officials judge the impact of looses by U.S. investment firm Archegos' on the nation's financial firms and system is limited but they are paying great attention to risk management practices.

The BOJ and the Financial Services Agency will jointly conduct an investigation into domestic financial firms after Archegos exposed the country's financial groups to losses, the Nikkei reported.

The BOJ has warned that financial institutions' search for yield to boost profits amid prolonged low interest rates could increase the vulnerability of the financial system.
