Beijing wants dialogue with the EU to resolve trade issues over increased protectionism, Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told reporters on Thursday.
When asked for comment on the EU's possible move to formally impose tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, Wang said protectionism would not solve the trading bloc's issues. The two parties represent important forces in building an open world economy, and specific economic and trade issues should be resolved through dialogue and consultation.
