MNI BRIEF:Dallas Fed's Trimmed Mean at Fastest Pace Since 1990

The Dallas Fed's trimmed mean one-month annualized PCE inflation rate grew at 5.08% in September, the fastest pace in 31 years, data released Friday showed.

The trimmed mean measure, widely followed within the Fed system, also showed six-month annualized figures increasing 0.5ppts from the month prior to 3.13%, the highest since 2006. The 12-month figure jumped 0.3ppts to 2.33%, the highest since 2008. MNI has previously reported the Dallas Fed saw its trimmed mean measure increasing to levels not seen since before the financial crisis.

In a separate release out Friday, the Cleveland Fed's median PCE inflation measure increased 0.45% month-over-month, the highest since 1990.
