MNI BRIEF: ECB Lagarde Sees Inflation Negative Into 2021

FRANKFURT (MNI)

Headline inflation will likely to remain negative until early 2021, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said Thursday. Speaking at the central bank's post-Governing Council policy meeting, Lagarde said with risks tilted to the downside. An ambitious coordinated fiscal stance remains necessary, albeit targeted and temporary.

Lagarde added that the Governing Council stressed the importance of Next Gen EU package becoming operational "without delay".
