The impact from factors boosting inflation will likely fade early next year, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said Thursday, noting that the Governing Council still expects price growth to be below the 2% symmetric target over the medium term.

On the wider economy, Lagarde said risks to the outlook are broadly balanced, noting a strongly recovering economy that could be blown off course if Covid variants outpace vaccinations.
