The EU and US have decided to proceed with the inaugural meeting of the Trade and Technology Council on Sep 29 in Pittsburgh, with an EU source saying a joint statement is already circulating internally to this effect.
EU states have been divided over whether to go ahead or postpone following the AUKUS announcement, sources indicated, although Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, who is responsible for trade policy, however, made clear his preference for proceeding with the talks internally, sources said.
