MNI BRIEF: Euro Banks To Undergo Cyber Stress Test - ECB

(MNI) LONDON

The European Central Bank will this year stress test 109 euro-area bank for their potential response to a successful cyber attack, it said on Wednesday - just weeks after China’s ICBC was hit by an online attack that disrupted some daily services.

The test will assess emergency procedures and contingency plans aimed at restoring normal operations, it said. Some 28 banks will undergo enhanced assessment in order to account for different business models and geographies, and to ensure efficient coordination with other supervisory activities.
