MNI BRIEF: German Exporters See Brighter Outlook

LONDON (MNI)

German exporters are more upbeat than in recent months, the Ifo Institute said Monday, although overall sentiment is still at historically low levels. The Ifo Export Expectations Index rose to +1.4 in December from November's -1.0. However, there is still an air of caution, with many uncertainties, including Brexit.

Auto and electrical manufacturers are most upbeat, the institute said, with food and apparel manufacturers seeing the most difficult conditions., Clement Fuest, the Ifo president said.
