Demand for financing by Japanese corporates via bank rose from three months ago as businesses increased capital investment and tried to increase internal reserves, according to the Bank of Japan’s quarterly survey of senior loan officers at 50 banks released on Wednesday.

The index for corporate fund demand -- calculated by subtracting the number of banks reporting a decline in lending from the number reporting an increase – rose to +3 in July from April, (See: MNI STATE OF PLAY:BOJ To Stand Pat On Policy, Forward Guidance).
