MNI BRIEF:Japan June Corp Index Gains Slow On Input Lower Cost

TOKYO (MNI)

The year-on-year rise in Japan's corporate goods price index slowed to +9.2% in June from a revised +9.3% in May after smaller increases for lumber, wood and petroleum and coal products, data released by the Bank of Japan on Tuesday showed.

The CGPI rose 0.7% m/m in June. Petroleum and coal product prices rose 22.2% y/y in June and lumber and wood products rose 43.3%, both slower paces than May. Prices for iron and steel rose 26.7% in June, also slowing from May.
