MNI BRIEF: Japan Spent JPY5.5 Trln To Support Yen -  Press

The scale of yen-buying interventions conducted on Oct. 21 appeared to have totaled JPY5.5 trillion, the Nikkei reported on Tuesday.

The leading newspaper estimated the scale based on daily fund supply-demand data released by the BOJ.

The Ministry of Finance will release the results of forex intervention on Oct. 31.

Japan’s government and the Bank of Japan appeared to have conducted yen-buying operations when the yen fell to a fresh 32-year low of around JPY151.90 on Friday.
