MNI BRIEF: Japan’s Suga Approval Rating At Record Low

The approval rating of Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga's government dropped 7 percentage points from April to a record low of 40% in the latest survey conducted May 28-30, the Nikkei reported on Monday.

The Nikkei/TV Tokyo survey showed that 64% of respondents were not satisfied with the government's coronavirus response, while 31% were satisfied.

The pace of vaccine rollout in Japan is considerably lagging other countries.
