MNI BRIEF: Noguchi: BOJ Needs Easy Policy To Increase Wages

TOKYO (MNI)

Bank of Japan board member Asahi Noguchi said on Thursday that the BOJ must maintain easy policy to achieve the 2% sustained price stability target through improvement of labour markets and moderate wage hikes.

“Despite a prolonged easy policy, Japan hasn’t been achieved the 2% price target as economic conditions haven’t improved as strong as to cause sufficient wage hikes,” Noguchi told business leaders in Kumamoto City, see: MNI INSIGHT: BOJ Needs To Set The Stage For A JGB Band Review.
