MNI BRIEF: NY Fed Inflation Gauge Hits Post-Covid High of 1.7%

The New York Fed's Underlying Inflation Gauge climbed 0.2 percentage point to 1.7%, its highest level since March 2020, the regional central bank said Friday.

MNI this week exclusively reported growing concern within Fed circles about the prospect that inflation might get out of control given the confluence of loose monetary policy and a rising budget deficit.
