MNI BRIEF: OIS, Sovereign Curves Key Financing Measure - Lane

(MNI) LONDON

The European Central Bank is paying particularly close attention to OIS yield curve and the GDP-weighted sovereign yield curve as part of its multifaceted assessment of bank-based and market-based financing conditions, ECB chief economist Philip Lane said in a speech Thursday in which he reaffirmed the role of fully flexible asset purchases in ensuring financing conditions do not tighten prematurely.

The ECB is also "closely monitoring" the evolution of longer-term nominal bond yields, he added, reiterating remarks made by president Christine Lagarde earlier this week.
