MNI BRIEF: Polls Open For Pivotal Georgia Senate Runoffs

WASHINGTON (MNI)

The latest polling headed into Tuesday's crucial George runoff elections suggests the candidates remain neck and neck as residents head to voting stations. A faceoff between Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler and Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock will determine which party gains control of the Senate.

Polling averages show Warnock and Ossoff with roughly 2pp advantages ahead of Loeffler and Perdue as of Monday, according to FiveThirtyEight.com. The Preserve America poll, conducted for a Republic PAC, called 500 likely voters over the weekend and found 45% for Perdue and 46% for Ossoff while Loeffler had 45% and Warnock's 46%.

Polls close at 7 p.m. but it may take several days to get a final result.
