Andrea Maechler will take up the role of Deputy General Manager at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel from September, the Basel-based group said Monday, after she steps down from her role at the Swiss National Bank in June.

Maechler joined the SNB’s Governing Board in 2015, in charge of Department III (Money Market and Foreign Exchange, Asset Management, Banking Operations and Information Technology), and led the implementation of tiered remuneration on sight deposits as the bank shifted to positive interest rates (see ECB Peak Rate Likely 3.5-3.75% - Gerlach).
