MNI BRIEF: Thai Rates On Hold As Economy "Bottoms Out"

SYDNEY (MNI)

Thailand's economy has "bottomed out" and entered the recovery phase, according to the Bank of Thailand in its decision on Wednesday to keep its policy rate on hold.

As expected the BoT maintained the one day repurchase rate at 0.50% in what was a unanimous decision from the Monetary Policy Committee, see: MNI STATE OF PLAY: Thailand CB Banks On Recovery In Rate Views.

The central bank, however, said the recovery was fragile and subject to uncertainty and accommodative policies were still required.
